Thissio Thissio is a traditional settlement of Athens. The history of this region is lost in depths of centuries. Here, is found the Ancient Agora. It is a very important archaeological area which is extended at the foothill of Akropolis. It constitutes point of report in the conducted tour in the monuments of Athens for each visitor.
In the ancient years Agora constituted the commercial, the administrative, the cultural and the religious centre of city. In the western dominates the temple of Ifaistos and at the east side of you’ll see the Byzantine church of Saint Apostles that is dated by the 10th century.
A characteristic of Thissio is the neoclassic buildings that give to the area an aristocracy look.
Thissio is one of the place that frequent the youth of the city. In the region function a lot of cafeterias, bars, luxurious restaurants, etc.
