I loved this hotel. As a single, older (56) traveller I found it secure, comfortable and friendly. The foyer is small, unimposing but modern and the reception staff are professional and welcoming. My room was a surprise; the hotel is rated as three star but my room was equal to others I had stayed in, of a higher rating. I liked the colour scheme, polished wood, quiet and the relative spaciousness. Best of all, the hotel is within walking distance of the Akropolis, Athens downtown shopping area, the National Museum, the Kerameikos museum and, if you are more daring than I was, Athenian night life. Breakfast in the pleasant restaurant was generous. As you can tell, for me this hotel was an ideal base from which to explore Athens.

OUR FAMILY REUNION OF 20 MEMBERS FROM THROUGHOUT THE USA STAYED AT THE PLAKA HOTEL FOR 7 NIGHTS, JULY, 2004. THE LOCATION IS PERFECT, SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLAKA, STEPS FROM THE METRO, THE FLEA MARKET, THE CATHEDRAL, ALL THE MUSEUMS,CONSTITUTION SQUARE, RESTAURANTS, EVERYTHING THAT YOU WANT TO SEE IN ATHENS. WE SAW THE ACROPOLIS FROM OUR ROOM. FROM THE ROOFTOP TERRACE AT NIGHT WE COULD SEE THE ACROPOLIS AND LYCABETTUS. WE HAD A WONDERFUL BUFFET BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING AND THE STAFF SPOKE ENGLISH. IT WAS PERFECT.

I stayed at Hotel Plaka in the summer of 2002. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with anything i needed. This is very important when touring cities you aren't too familiar with. It's those extra touches which make people appreciate where they stay and where they go back to in the future.
