Statues The new Labour government announced, within 48 hours of taking office, that it would not return the Parthenon Marbles to Greece. If you believe that the Parthenon Marbles should be returned to Greece, you can send an email to the Ministry of Culture in London asking the Heritage Minister to enter into negotiations with the Greek government on the future of the Parthenon Marbles. Acropolis Museum Fund
Without a museum for the Parthenon Marbles they cannot come back. The planning of the New Acropolis Museum has begun; a contract has been signed between the Melina Mercouri Foundation and the designers M.Nicoletti and L.Passarelli who won the first prize at the last international competition. They are to deliver an advanced preliminary design in two phases. When this is delivered and approved by the Foundation, it will be offered to the Greek State which will then be able to proceed with the building of the New Acropolis Museum.

The Museum will be expensive and financial resources are limited. You can help secure the future of the New Acropolis Museum by making a donation to the Acropolis Museum Fund, which is run by the Melina Mercouri Foundation.
