1945, 12 February

On 12 February 1945 the agreement of Varkiza (suburb of Athens) meant the end of hostilities, with the agreement of E.L.A.S. and the government gave amnesty to the political crimes and held referendum with regard to the chance of the institution of monarchy, which would succeed elections. Because of a confluence during the Possession of population from Piraeus and the province, Athens consisted of roughly 400.000 more residents. In January 1945 the capital was supplied electric power again, while the theatres and the cinema progressively began to operate again, the efforts of reconstruction of the postal service were continued. In March the University operates again. Food was still shared with the bulletin and the black market continued to exist.
