Weaving

Woven products meet the needs of dress, the home and professional occupations. The raw materials used in weaving are animal (sheep's wool, goat's wool, silk) and plant (cotton, linen, hemp, esparto grass), dyed with vegetable dyes (roots, leaves, fruits). The wooden looms used for the weaving are divided into three types: upright, horizontal and pit. From the point of view of hanficrafts, the most widespread fabrics were the kilims, flokatas, skoulata, dimities and others.
